There should be absolutely no incompatibility issues. Scoped bow supposed to work with vanilla skyrim. ![]() The mod only adds, and does not take away anything. If you can't tell, I've gotten more than a few questions as to whether or not this mod requires it. In the latest update I added a chest behind the Riverwood Trader with all the crossbows and bolts in it in case you don't have Sorine for some reason or you're a vampire and not exactly on good terms with the Dawnguard.Ģ.0 - Added Lightweight Sniper's Crossbow and Devastating Sniper's CrossbowĢ.1 - Added a chest full of xbows behind the Riverwood Traderģ.0 - Added two more ammo types, Razor Dwarven Bolts and Assassin's Dwarven Bolts Don't like it? Don't get it, and for crying out loud, don't complain about it :p Is it overpowered? Maybe a little, but it is a reasonable balance and shouldn't feel out of place, and is intended for a tactical, more realistic use anyway, not for storming the keep, so to speak. The crossbow may be purchased before completion of Sorine's quests for more advanced crossbows if you don't want to do/redo those missions. The crossbow and bolts can be purchased from Sorine in Fort Dawnguard at reasonable prices, or crafted on your own. Razor Dwarven Bolts - 23 base damage, eight bolts craftedĪssassin's Dwarven Bolts - 29 base damage, five bolts crafted Tempered Dwarven Bolts - 19 base damage, twelve bolts crafted There are two additional further ammunition types that can be found and crafted as well, which are Razor Dwarven Bolts, dealing an even higher damage, and the very fine Assassin's Dwarven Bolts, which deal buckets of damage.Īll types of bolts can be crafted at a forge with firewood, a dwarven ingot and a steel ingot for a balanced quantity of bolts, which are as follows: They can be crafted with firewood, a dwarven ingot and a steel ingot for twelve bolts. ![]() The new ammo type is called "Tempered Dwarven Bolts", which are essentially a third tier of crossbow ammunition above steel and dwarven bolts, without the, ahem, obtrusive nature of explosive bolts. Lightweight Sniper's Crossbow - Lower carry weight, lower damage, fast rate of fireĭevastating Sniper's Crossbow - Higher carry weight, slow fire rate, very high damage Sniper's Crossbow - Moderately slow rate of fire, high damage ![]() The new weapons are enhanced Dwarven crossbows with higher damage and lower rate of fire, intended for players who have a more strategic style of gameplay and like to take out enemies silently from afar. (Modded crossbow but only good image i could find)Īnother Crossbow from in-game with the same spanning characteristics.UPDATED: Now includes three unique crossbows and three new ammunition types! (Now also vampire friendly!)Ī quick little mod I made to add three new crossbows and a type of ammo to the game. This image just to show the overall size range the crossbows, as you can see fairly compact. Showing the length of Power Stroke and what it looks like fully spanned, and a side view of the spanning lever (Modded crossbow but only good image i could find) When unspanned, the crossbow prod is straight. If so, would it still be a manstopper assuming no armor or light armor (gambesons etc). And given the assumption of a low draw weight + short power stroke + compactness of the overall design, would such a weapon be relegated to Hunting small game?.Given the spanning method, short power stroke, and overall compactness of the crossbow, I would guess it could only be possible low draw weight perhaps in the 50 - 90/100lb ranges like self-cocking crossbow pistols of today?.What is the maximum poundage you estimate such a crossbow can be?.So would such a lever design actually give enough advantage to be able to span the crossbow purely in the arms? It looks like it would work like a modern self-loading mechanism that can be seen on modern crossbow pistols, and in-game it is reloaded fairly quickly standing up without having to stop and place the crossbow on the floor using the stirrup or other methods. What is the mechanical advantage of such a device, or would it even give any benefit/advantage over using something like a belly draw?.It has an integrated cocking lever that seems to work on the same principle as a Goat's Foot Lever, however it is permanently attached to the stock. The design of the Crossbows as seen in Skyrim always interested me, and I always wondered what sort of characteristics such a design would give:
